You will\ngenerally only remove them to eat, drink anything besides water, brush, and\nfloss. The aligners place gentle pressure on your teeth to shift them into a straighter\nposition. Each set of aligners is a different step in your smile\u2019s transition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Am I a Good Candidate for Invisalign?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invisalign can fix a variety of problems in your smile,\nincluding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gaps between teeth <\/li><li>Crowded teeth <\/li><li>Overbite<\/li><li>Underbite <\/li><li>Crossbite <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, if your alignment issues are severe, you might need\nbraces to fix them. There are a couple of other factors to consider in whether\nInvisalign would be right for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of them is your age. Invisalign is great for adults and\nolder teenagers who want to straighten their smile in a subtle way. However,\nyounger teens and children generally don\u2019t make good candidates for Invisalign\nbecause their teeth are still growing and shifting on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other main factor to consider is dedication. Invisalign\ntreatment may sound simple, but you have to be set on wearing your aligners for\nmore than 22 hours a day, cleaning them, and going to your dentist for\ncheckups. If you\u2019re not committed to wearing your aligners, and your retainer\nafterwards, your teeth can shift back and compromise your treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I Just Get Invisalign on the Top?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we smile, it\u2019s usually only the top teeth that are\nvisible. For this reason, many patients believe their bottom teeth don\u2019t need\nto be straightened, so they ask if they receive Invisalign on only their top teeth.\nThis is called single arch treatment, which can be an option in rare cases.\nHowever, dentists normally do not recommend single arch treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main reason is because single arch treatment can mess up\nyour bite and leave your mouth in even worse condition than it was in before\nInvisalign. Straightening only your top teeth might make those teeth look\nbetter, but if you have an underbite or overbite, it could make that issue a\nwhole lot worse. Even if no one ever sees your bottom teeth, it\u2019s generally\nbest to straighten both arches at the same time to keep your bite in tip-top\nshape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invisalign is a great option to help you achieve that\nbeautifully straight smile you have always dreamed of, on both your top and\nbottom arches.
